The Digby Care 25 group selected Le Transport de Clare as its latest community organization to help through its generousity.

At the care group’s last meeting, three community groups made presentations: St. Patrick’s Soup Kitchen, Baie Ste Marie Animal Society and Le Transport de Clare.

The transportation service was chosen as the recipient and received a donation of $3,085 from the Digby Care 25 group.

Digby Care 25 members Cheryl Ross, Debbie Haight and Michelle Winchester delivered the cheque to the organization last week, for which Le Transport de Clare was very grateful.

Digby Care 25, which has more than 100 women involved, meets four times a year with each person donating a minimum of $25 each time to a chosen charity/community group.

All members pay towards the donations but only those who attend meetings can vote on who the recipient will be. Organizations must be a registered organization to be able to give an income tax receipt.

All the funds stay local within Digby County. People interested in becoming involved in Digby Care 25 can send an email to digbycare25@hotmail.com or phone 902-308-0402.

The next meeting of the group is March 3 at the curling club in Digby at 6:30 p.m.
