Bantam AA

The Wade’s Wire Traps Bantam AA Yarmouth Mariners won their two road games against Antigonish Bulldogs last weekend.

On Saturday the score was 5-4. Orren Hatfield led the attack with a hat trick while Spencer Surette and Cameron Kerr added singles. Assists went to Owen Penney (3), Owen Fitzgerald (2) and Spencer Surette. Jacob Atwood was in net.

On Sunday morning, the game ended 12-3. Jaden Kerr had a hattrick. Connor Prouty and Oren Hatfield netted 2 each, while Ryder Travis, Jacob Matthews. Owen Penney, Spencer Surette, and Alex Barr each had one. Assists went to Owen Fitzgerald (5), Owen Penney (2), Jory Stewart (2), with singles to Cameron Brown, Ryder Travis, Spencer Surette, Ben LeBlanc, Jaden Kerr, Cameron Kerr, and Connor Prouty. Jacob Atwood was in net for the win.

This Sunday Yarmouth will host Acadia.

Bantam A girls

The Yarmouth Scotiabank Western Riptide White Bantam A Girls played on the road this past weekend. They played two games in Antigonish on Saturday, losing both with scores of 3-1 and 3-0. The only goal was scored by Chloe Swaine with assists by Karli MacDonald and Breanne Deveau. On Sunday they played Metro East Inferno Red winning 3-1. Goals were scored by Madison Cushing, Chloe Swaine and Sydnee Lloyd. Adele Comeau had an assist. Sophie Thimot was in net for all three games.

Midget C

The Graham Constructi­on Ltd Midget C (Reigh’s) Mariners had a 3-2 league win over Greenwood.

Scoring were Dominic Higby, Evan Locke and Claude d’Eon each. Assists went to Claude d’Eon, Ashton Doucette, Jacob Doucette, Nick d’Entremont, Jared Sanford and Dominic Higby each with 1. In nets was Logan Leaman and Liam Campbell.

Peewee AAA

The Yarmouth Chris Scott Constructi­on Mariners picked up a win and two losses during NS Mainland Peewee “AAA” league action this past weekend.

On Saturday afternoon

in Truro, the visiting Mariners were unable to solve the Bearcats netminder, dropping a 4-0 decision.

After a short rest and a drive to Amherst, the Yarmouth squad bounced back with a convincing 5-1 win over the Cumberland Ramblers. Sam Hope fired a hattrick for the victors, with Jessica Mackinnon and Sammy Cochrane adding a single marker each. Max Darcy, Koen Shand, Jordan Apostolofs­ki, Cameron Barnes, and Russell Pinksen added assists.

Sunday saw the Mariners once again jump out to an early lead, having a 4-2 advantage at the second intermissi­on. But the Ramblers scored four third period goals to edge Yarmouth 6-5. Dakota Ryer, Jessica Mackinnon, Sam Hope, Koen Shand, and Max Darcy all dented the twine for the Mariners. Dominic Jacquard, Sawyer Longmire, and Jordan Apostolofs­ki added assists.

Up next the Mariners will host the Acadia Axemen for a pair of exhibition games on Saturday in Yarmouth. Puck drop is 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Peewee A

The GPK Refrigerat­ion Peewee A Mariners came away with two league points after two road games this past weekend.

The Mariners earned a 6-2 win over the Shelburne Flames held at the Barrington Arena on Saturday. Lucas Cottreau scored 2 goals, with additional goals added by Drew Muise, Damien Cottreau, Blake Newell and Lucien Doucette. Ben Lyons has three assists with Alyre Richardson and Blake Newell also helping with two assists each.

Sunday’s game saw the Mariners lose against the home team Acadia Axemen 6-4. Blake Newell scored two goals unassisted, with Sean Phillippe Fernandez and Lucien Doucette adding to the count with one goal each. Assists were awarded to Damien Cottreau and Alyre Richardson.

Peewee A girls

The Western Riptide White team peewee A girls were on the road for two games this past weekend. On Saturday they played against Western Riptide green for a 7-5 win and on Sunday they played against Metro East Inferno gold for a 2-1 win.

Peewee B

The Charlesvil­le Peewee B Mariners were on the road this past weekend with two games against Western Valley. In the first game the Mariners took the win with a score of 7-5. In net for both games was Miguel Surette. Scoring for the Mariners was Liam Surette with 4 goals, Gabriel Hideib with 2 and Maddox d’Entremont with 1. Assists for the game goes to Blake Fish with 5, Maddox d’Entremont with 4, Liam Surette, Dominick Hazelton, Jacques Surette and Mason Legere all with 1 each.

The second game Western Valley downed the Mariners with a score of 5-2. Scoring for the Mariners was Liam Surette and Caleum Hines each with one and the assist went to Dominick Hazelton.

Atom B

Pink Star Barro Atom B played Dec 16. Croften MacAlpine and Dana Hill scored with Brody Goodwin and Andre Hill assisting. Zander White was in net. Final score Mariners 2– Clare-Digby 5.

Goal scorers for Clare-Digby were not available at our press time.
