Two accidents in the Barrington Passage area that occurred during the holiday season are under investigation.

The first occurred on Dec. 21 at 2:34 p.m. on Highway 3 in Doctor’s Cove. A 76-year-old man driving a small car drifted across the centre line and struck a 39-year-old man driving a cube van. No charges have been laid and the matter is under investigation, the RCMP said last week.

Both men were injured but they were not life-threatening injuries. The accident closed the highway for more than an hour.

The second accident happened on Dec. 24 when a 67-year-old male driver accidentally hit the wrong pedal and drove into the double doors of the lobby at the Causeway Professional Centre in Barrington Passage. The driver was not injured. This incident also remains under investigation. The ATM at the location remained out of order last week.
