DOUCETTE, Ger­ald J. – age 90, Yar­mouth passed away on Dec 29, 2018. Born in Spring­haven, NS on March 13, 1928, he was a son to the late Al­cide and Florence [Me­lan­son]. Gerry, as he was known as, was a car en­thu­si­ast, who liked to visit local deal­er­ships, test drive new mod­els and talk all things car re­lated. He was a re­tired car­pen­ter who spent many hours watch­ing his fa­vorite teams, the Bos­ton Red Sox and Bos­ton Bru­ins. He had a great sense of hu­mor and loved to tease fam­ily and friends. Gerry is sur­vived by his wife, Yvonne; sons, Kevin [Wanda], Halifax; Brian [Kelly], Halifax, and Craig, Monc­ton; grand­chil­dren, Holly, Ja­cob, Mark and Nicole; 4 great grand­chil­dren; sis­ters, Lu­cille Muise and Ber­nadette Muise. Be­side his par­ents, he was pre­de­ceased by first wife, Anne; sis­ter, Jackie; brothers, Chip and Camille, and brother in law, Eli. Dr. Muise. Thanks to Yvonne and her chil­dren for their love and sup­port. Fu­neral ar­range­ments were en­trusted to Sweeny’s Fu­neral Home and Cre­ma­to­rium, Yar­mouth. A Me­mo­rial Ser­vice was held on Jan 2nd, at 2 PM from the Sweeny’s Fu­neral Home Chapel, Yar­mouth, Rev Alan Doucette of­fi­ci­ated. Burial will take place at a later date.
