Bantam AA
The Wade’s Wire Traps Yarmouth Bantam AA Mariners were on the road Jan. 6 to play the South Shore Lumberjacks. Yarmouth won the game 3-2.
Goal scorers were Owen Penney, Jory Stewart and Spencer Surette. Assists went to Spencer Surette, Orren Hatfield, Michel Comeau and Owen Penney.
Jacob Atwood was in net for the win.
The Wade’s Wire Traps are on the road this weekend for two games in Pictou.
The previous weekend the Mariners were on the road. During exhibition play against the Sackville Flyers Yarmouth lost 3-2.
In Amherst later that day, Yarmouth was victorious in defeating the Cumberland Ramblers 6-1. Goal scorers were Dalton Sears and Owen Penney, each with two, while Michel Comeau and Alex Barr each had one. Assists went to Cameron Brown with two, with Owen Penney, Ryder Travis, and Owen Fitzgerald each with one. Izaac Deveau was in net for the win.
The next day Izaac Deveau recorded a shutout for Yarmouth in an 11-0 victory. Goals were scored by Jaden Kerr, Jory Stewart, Owen Penney, and Dalton Sears, who each scored twice, while Ben LeBlanc, Michel Comeau, and Alex Barr each had one goal. Assists went to Michel Comeau and Orren Hatfield each with three, Jaden Kerr with two, and singles went to Jory Stewart, Owen Penney, Cameron Brown, Alex Barr, Owen Fitzgerald and Ben LeBlanc.
Peewee B
The Charlesville Fisheries Peewee B Mariners traveled to Liverpool on Jan. 5 for a league game against the Queens County Cougars and defeated the Cougars 9-1.
In net for the Mariners was Miguel Surette. Scoring for the Mariners were Liam Surette and Charlie Gosling, each with two goals, Dominick Hazelton, Jack d’Entremont, Brody Smith, Caleum Hines and Gabriel Hideib, all with one each. The assists for the game went to Caleum Hines, Brody Smith, Gabriel Hideib and Blake Fish.
Atom B
Yarmouth Pink Star Barro Atom B Mariners played Saturday with a win. Scorers Parker LeBlanc, Andre Hill, Crofton MacAlpine, and Jesse Churchill. Assists by Crofton MacAlpine, Mateo d’Entremont, Andre Hill, Jesse Churchill, Lucas Cushing and Jake Sanford. Final score 6 Mariners 1 Queens County Cougars.
Zander White was in net for the win.
Peewee A
The GPK Refrigeration Peewee A Mariners came away with two wins this past weekend, defeating the Acadia Axemen 4-1 on Jan. 5 and the Clare-Digby Ravens 3-1 on Jan. 6.
The 4-1 home win against Acadia was led by Blake Newell scoring two goals, with Lucas Cottreay and Drew Muise adding one goal each. Assists came from Lucien Doucette, Connor Pothier, Lucas Cottreau and Blake Newell.
The 3-1 road win against Clare-Digby saw goals from Alyre Richardson, Blake Newell and Connor Pothier. Connor Pothier, Lucas Cottreau and Blake Newell were awarded assists.
Brady Saulnier was in net for both wins.
The previous weekend the Mariners defeating the South Shore Lumberjacks 6-3 and fell to the Clare-Digby Ravens 3-2.
In the 6-3 win, Damien Cottreau scored a hat-trick, with additional goals added by Boston Aldred, Lucas Cottreau and Drew Muise. Drew Muise had three assists while Ben Lyons, Ashton Samms, Blake Newell, Bryce Fitzgerald and Alyre Richardson helped with one assist each.
The 3-2 loss saw goals from Blake Newell and Boston Aldred, with assists coming from Ben Lyons, Lucas Cottreau, Damien Cottreau and Lucien Doucette.
Goal scorers for Clare-Digby were not available at our press deadline.
