Grade 9 Vik­ing boys win Drum­lin bas­ket­ball tour­na­ment

Yar­mouth Con­sol­i­dated Me­mo­rial High School’s Grade 9 boys bas­ket­ball team were win­ners of this past week­end’s Drum­lin Heights ju­nior boys bas­ket­ball tour­na­ment.

The YCMHS Vik­ings de­feated Bar­ring­ton 68-55 in the tour­na­ment’s championship game on Satur­day.

Owen He­meon was Yar­mouth’s player of the game in the ti­tle con­test.

Michael Chris­ten­son was named the tour­na­ment’s most valu­able player.

In ear­lier ac­tion Satur­day, the Vik­ings were 55-28 win­ners over St. Mary’s Bay Academy, with Ethan Grant be­ing named Yar­mouth’s player of the game.

On Fri­day, in its first game of the tour­na­ment, the Yar­mouth team de­feated Lock­e­port 65-22. David Ihidero was the Vik­ings’ player of the game in this one.
