PEB Sharks win tournament
The Par-en-Bas Sharks brought home the 2019 Danny Dorrington High School Hockey tournament championship banner this past weekend.
The seven-team high school hockey tournament was held in New Glasgow Jan. 11-13.
The PEB Sharks defeated the host Northumberland Regional High School team 2-0 in Sunday’s championship final.
The Sharks had two wins and a tie during the round robin. During the round robin PEB defeated West Kings 7-4 and had a 3-2 win over the Dr. J H Gillis team from Antigonish. The Sharks tied North Nova Education Centre of New Glasgow 3-3.
Par-en-Bas advanced to the championship game following a 1-0 win over North Nova Education Centre in Saturday’s semifinal.
This weekend the Par-en-Bas Sharks return to Valley High School Hockey League action with a Jan. 18 road trip to Berwick to play the Central Kings Gators.
