High school hockey all-star games in Yarmouth Jan. 20

The Valley High School Hockey League’s (VHSHL) boys and girls annual all-star games will be played in Yarmouth on Sunday, Jan. 20.

The girls game gets underway at 12 noon and the boys game will follow at 2 p.m.

There are 11 boys teams and 10 girls teams in the VHSHL. Teams were invited to make their selections for the forward and defense positions in the games.

The league decided that the top three teams in each of the league’s divisions, according to the league’s standings, could select a goalie to send to the game.

On the boys side of the league the west division is made up of Par-en-Bas, Yarmouth, Barrington, Clare and Middleton high schools. The east division is made up of Park View, Avon View, NKEC, Central Kings, Horton and West Kings.

The girls’ 10 league teams will be divided up into east and west teams as well. The east will include Avon View, Central Kings, Middleton, Horton and Barrington; with the west made up of West Kings, Park View, NKEC, Bridgetown and Yarmouth.

Admission for the all-star games is $5 for adults and $3 for students, which will get you into both games.
