RCMP investigates fatal two vehicle collision

The Yarmouth Rural RCMP are investigating a fatal two-vehicle collision that occurred in Yarmouth County on Jan. 11.

According to an RCMP media release, at 4 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 11, the RCMP responded to the collision between a 2017 Ram truck and a 2012 Hyundai Tucson on Hwy 340 in Deerfield.

Upon police arrival, the occupant of the Hyundai, a 62-yearold female driver from Yarmouth was found deceased. The driver and lone occupant of the Ram, a 46-year-old man from Yarmouth, was not injured.

RCMP Collision Analyst attended the scene. Both lanes of the highway were closed to traffic for several hours. The investigation is ongoing.

The name of the deceased was not released by the RCMP.
