To learn more about eBird, you are invited to attend a presentati­on by Jake Walker from Acadia University at the next meeting of the southwest chapter of the Nova Scotia Bird Society. He will talk about “eBird and Citizen Science: How to turn recreation­al birding into hard data.”

He will explain how best to use eBird and give examples of how it is applied to model long-term population trends. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the Yarmouth County Museum and Archives, 22 Collins St. in Yarmouth, Jan. 22.
