1. WINTER WARRIOR
A winter commute may not be possible for everyone in Canada due to severe weather, but for those in suitable climates, outfitting a cyclocross bike with fenders and panniers and hitting the road even for 20 minutes twice a day will give you an extra 2:40 of riding time per week. Add that to your interval training and weekend workouts and you will find that thanks to 12 or more hours per month over the winter, you’ll be stronger come the spring. Using a cross bike with cross tires will up the strength component of your morning commute due to increased rolling resistance and will make the ride safer on winter roads.
