The names Whit­field, Reid and Mc­quaid are among a host of Cana­di­ans who have made their mark glob­ally in triathlon. But the fu­ture of the sport in Canada lies with the next gen­er­a­tion of ath­letes. The term “ju­nior” ap­plies to 16- to 19-year-old triath­letes, though younger chil­dren com­ing through in­tro­duc­tory pro­grams also have a key role to play in how triathlon evolves.
