Dream about the ex­pe­ri­ences

When you think about achiev­ing your goal and the steps that are in­volved in mak­ing it hap­pen, think about what sort of life ex­pe­ri­ences it is go­ing to of­fer. There may be po­ten­tial for travel to new places, meet­ing new peo­ple, learn­ing new skills, try­ing new foods, at­tend­ing train­ing camps… the list goes on. Com­mit­ting your­self to a goal of­fers a direc­tion and the road to get there has a myr­iad of op­tions and ex­pe­ri­ences. List­ing the ex­pe­ri­ences that you want to have in your life as part of your goal set­ting cre­ates a check­list of ac­com­plish­ments on top of your po­ten­tial achieve­ments. This makes the process a suc­cess in it­self, which is great for main­tain­ing mo­ti­va­tion. This is why cre­at­ing “bucket lists” is so mo­ti­vat­ing – if you have ex­pe­ri­ences ticked off your list, the year has been suc­cess­ful.
