Triathlon Magazine Canada - - DEPARTMENT -

IT’S HARD TO call yourself a triathlete in Canada and not own a bike trainer of some sort. During those long winter months when being on the road simply isn’t an option, hitting a trainer or a set of rollers is simply the only option to be able to get our bike training done. Trainers don’t only need to be a winter habit, either – they offer a super-efficient way to get your workouts done in a controlled environment that’s free of road hazards – read cars, trucks and the like. With interactive programs like Zwift or TrainerRoad that allow you to enjoy different routes and even races against your friends or hundreds of other athletes from around the world, riding a trainer can now be almost as much fun as hitting the roads for your favorite route.

Canadian superstar Lionel Sanders has made indoor bike training a mainstay in his routine, and more and more pros are following suit as they are seeing the results that can be had thanks to disciplined time on a smart trainer or rollers. Here are some trainers that can help you take your bike training to a new level this fall and winter.
