Ceepo Shadow R
US$6,500 The hit of the Eurobike show this year, Ceepo’s new Shadow R takes aero tri bikes to the next level. Ceepo is happy with the aggressive design that leaves little middle ground – people either love it or hate it. No fork means considerably less aero drag, according to Ceepo’s testing, which means you’ll be all set to go much faster on this super-bike from the Japanese company. As revolutionary as the bike looks, it’s built up with many standard components, which means you can use pretty much any aero bar and stem combination you’d like. Like the P5X before it, the Shadow R uses disc brakes, which are becoming more and more popular in the tri-bike world these days. There’s lots of aero storage available – a small hidden box sits at the bottom of the frame for your spare tube and CO2 cartridge or pump, and there’s another compartment on the top tube for gels and the like. The regular Shadow features a standard fork design for those who can’t get their head around the radical Shadow R.
