Held in beautiful Whistler, Ironman Canada continued its long run as one of the country’s biggest events, featuring a new, three-loop bike course that remains as challenging as ever. A pair of Canadians topped the podium in the men’s-only pro race. Leading from start to finish, Brent McMahon sent a clear message that he’s ready to contend in Kona once again, dominating the race in a time of 8:31:33. Jeff Symonds took second, just under nine minutes back, while American Matt Russell rounded out the top three.
