SOME­TIMES A RAINY day will throw your nu­tri­tion goals off track. When it’s re­ally cold and grey out­side, I just want to curl up on the couch with a bowl of mashed pota­toes. But, if you make this smoothie, you’ll have the best of both worlds. The com­fort of a blue­berry muf­fin and the great nu­tri­ents from hemp hearts, ke­fir and spinach, as well as an­tiox­i­dants from blue­ber­ries. Plus, the oats will fill you up, so you won’t be crav­ing those mashed pota­toes all day.

Need­less to say, don’t judge a smoothie by its colour. The most

de­li­cious smooth­ies typ­i­cally fall into “Ce­ment Mixer” cat­e­gories. Mix­ing any sort of berry with the bright green from spinach leaves is a nasty rain­bow com­bi­na­tion. Just close your eyes and imag­ine it’s pur­ple, pink or what­ever you want. Or put it in an opaque con­tainer so you don’t have to look at it. What­ever you do, don’t miss out on this good­ness!

This recipe makes one smoothie that’s so de­li­cious, you won’t care what it looks like.
