THANYAPURA RESORT

-

In addition to the great training opportunities available around the Laguna Phuket Resort, those looking for some more structured training facilities can look to Thanyapura Resort.

Offering an interesting mix of highperformance training opportunities, along with integrative health and spa facilities, there’s a bit of everything on hand at Thanyapura, but for triathletes it’s a hot-weather training mecca with lots to offer. There are two pools – 25 metres and 50 metres – along with a 500- metre track ( it fits around a full- size rugby field, hence the added 100 m), two well-equipped fitness centres, a spinning studio and yoga studio which make for outstanding triathlon training opportunities.

Thanyapura hosts many elite triathletes who take advantage of the facilities and the easy access to excellent cycling and running routes, making it a great site for training camps. Thanks to Phuket’s hot, humid weather, many national teams have started to use the world-class facilities for training camps to acclimatize their athletes for the conditions they’re likely to experience at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.

When it comes to nutrition there’s lots on offer at Thanyapura, too, including a variety of restaurants, all of which cater to virtually any diet with local Thai cuisine and raw plant based, vegan, western, European and Asian specialties. One, the Booster Deli and Café, is dedicated solely to plant-based cuisine, and others feature up to 100 per cent vegan specialties.
