Apple Watch Series 6

-

STARTING AT $529 In addition to all the Smartwatch capabilities you’ll find in an Apple Watch, we’ve found that they offer a surprising amount of training capabilities, even for high-end triathletes. The watch keeps track of all kinds of variables during workouts – speed, distance, heart rate and more while your running and biking, and it can even figure out what stroke you’re doing during a swim session. You can also enhance the training experience through a number of apps that can be downloaded to the watch, too.

The health and fitness functionalities have been enhanced in the new Series 6. Apple has done a great job on this front to help people stay active, having them “close rings” to achieve various daily fitness goals like steps, activity and making sure you stand every hour. While those kind of reminders aren’t probably as important for more than active triathletes, there are some new features in the Series 6 that will certainly be of interest to multisport enthusiasts. The latest iteration of the watch can now measure Blood Oxygen, so you can now measure your oxygen saturation levels to gauge how well oxygenated blood is being delivered around your body.

While it remains the same size as the Series 5, the latest version of the Apple Watch uses a new processor that runs up to 20 per cent faster. It charges faster – it’ll do a full charge in less than 90 minutes – which makes it easier to wear while sleeping, so you’ll be able to take advantage of the health monitoring apps for more of the day. The Series 5 debuted an always-on retina display, but the Series 6’s is 2.5 times brighter when your wrist is down, which makes a noticeable difference when you’re taking a quick look down at the watch, especially while training. Battery life has also been improved, which will be appreciated by triathletes

who can now enjoy an additional hour of workout tracking – up to 11 hours for indoor workouts, and up to seven hours for outdoor sessions with GPS.

The new watch OS 7 adds some new health features to all the Apple watches, including a handwashing feature that will automatically detect if you’ve started washing your hands and count down for 20 seconds, and can also help you track your sleep.

Another feature that triathletes will appreciate is the built-in cellular function, you can use the Series 6 to connect a call or send a text message, and stream music or podcasts. This is a great for those who want the security of being able to reach out in an emergency, but would prefer not to carry their phone during a workout.

If you’re an Apple fan and looking for a smartwatch that will do a good job of keeping track of your training, the Series 6 might be your answer.
