Wahoo Elemnt Bolt and the Garmin Edge 530

-

The Edge 530 has been around for a few years, but remains a powerful option for those looking to keep track of all aspects of their training. Garmin’s computers offer lots of performance monitoring – everything from VO2 max to recovery time to your current training load. The computer will even help you keep track of how you’re dealing with heat and altitude acclimation. The computer can offer lots of insights on your cycling dynamics, too. The mapping features are extensive – everything from turn-by-turn directions and quick route calculations is covered with ease here. The Climbpro feature will even let you know how much more climbing you’ve got to go while you follow a route. The Edge 530 can also be paired with Garmin’s Varia rearview radar and lights, and will automatically send location info if it detects that you’ve been in an accident. Set up is also really easy through the Garmin Connect app (it will automatically grab information based on other devices you’ve used), and once you’re connected, you can get smart notifications on the computer.—KM
