Kristian Blummenfelt’s gold-medal bike
Giant Propel Advanced SL Disc
CUSTOM Norway’s Kristian Blummenfelt hit the technical bike course in Tokyo armed with a new ride from sponsor Giant, who crafted this new, custom-painted Propel Advanced SL Disc bike for him to use this season as he worked his way to the gold-medal effort at the Olympics.
Special shippo pattern-inspired graphics with overlapping circles and shapes symbolize harmony and happiness. The frame features Giant’s premium Advanced SL composite material and is engineered using Giant’s AeroSystem Shaping technology that optimizes each tube shape and angle for minimal drag.
The bike features Shimano’s Dura-Ace Di2 electronic components and disc brakes, along with CADEX WheelSystems 65-mm rear and 42-mm front wheels. The frame and fork are designed to integrate disc brakes to ensure excellent stopping power and control in all conditions and weather (no doubt much appreciated by Blummenfelt on the technical Tokyo course).
