STEVE KING
The Voice. The Athlete. Early 1990s to Present
His name is synonymous with Ironman Canada Penticton, and ultradistance events worldwide. King was not only the Ironman race announcer for most years while it was in Penticton, he also raced the event. And King was one of Canada’s best ultra-runners, placing fourth at the Badwater 135 in 2001. Today, at the age of 72, King still maintains a schedule that would humble people half his age, working as a registered clinical counsellor and a race announcer for his company, Backing Events.
