GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR WINTER TRAINING WITH FULGAZ

-

AS WE HIT winter and find ourselves dealing with cold temperatures, or too much snow to ride outside, why spend time looking at a video game screen (or even worse, the wall!) when you can be riding Two Bays Road or Alp d’Huez right at home? You can do all that, and much more, on FulGaz, the IRONMAN Group’s cutting-edge indoor virtual cycling app. Founded in 2014 by Mike Clucas in Melbourne, Australia, FulGaz offers up a realistic riding experience through its app and the collection of over 1,500 routes, including over 60 IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 courses from around the world. (More courses are being added on a regular basis.) Thanks to the high quality 4K videos used in the app, this is the closest thing you’ll find to travelling and riding in real locations around the world while riding in your own home. To celebrate some of the new updates and added routes, FulGaz will offer athletes who register for an IRONMAN or IRONMAN 70.3 event an extended free trial, allowing them to better prepare for their event by pre-riding courses before they get onsite for race day. Subscribers can now even personalize their own avatars and can customize the gender, skin tone, apparel and equipment. During a ride you can also toggle the view to see your own, or other athletes’ avatars. Avatars are currently enabled on courses including the famous Mont Ventoux climb, California’s Potrero Road, IRONMAN 70.3 Geelong, IRONMAN 70.3 Melbourne in Australia, the 2022 VinFast IRONMAN World Championship race in Kailua-Kona, Hawai’i, and more. In addition to IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 courses, riders can also test themselves on a range of other courses, including France’s famous Mount Ventoux, which is now a part of the FulGaz platform. All three sides of Mount Ventoux are available in FulGaz and avatar enabled, following a partnership with Haute Route. Any new athletes that register for a 2023 Haute Route event will receive a complimentary annual subscription to FulGaz. Also, subscribers can now ride the 2022 Wollongong UCI Road World Championships courses and the prologue of the Cape Epic course on FulGaz. More Epic prologues will be added in the coming months.

The app enables users to discover real-life event courses before they challenge themselves on race day, making the FulGaz platform the ideal training tool for real-world event preparation year-round. Pop up tips are available on the courses, too, to enhance your pre-race reconnaissance. By the time you get to the race, you’ll be completely familiar with the course and ready to compete at your best by being that much more prepared.

All that pre-race prep comes as you’re adding some fun to your indoor training, so instead of dreading those long indoor workouts, you’ll be enjoying the high-tech FulGaz app and taking in the real-life videos from some of the world’s most spectacular rides.

FulGaz offers a 14-day trial that you can extend to 30 days through this special promo code available to Triathlon Magazine readers: 30DAYTRICA.
