The Bells of Peace will ring out No­vem­ber 11, all over the towns and vil­lages of Pres­cott Coun­ty, if the Haw­kes­bu­ry Royal Ca­na­dian Le­gion branch makes good on its plan.

UJNFT BU TVOTFU /PWFNCFS JO BT ma­ny com­mu­ni­ties as pos­sible, in all 10 pro­vinces and the three ter­ri­to­ries where Le­gion branches exist and are able to co­or­di­nate their ef­forts with lo­cal churches and vo­lun­teers.

The Le­gion will contact the of­fi­cials with the 57 Vank­leek Hill Ar­my Ca­dets Corp. to pro­vide ca­dets to ring the bells at par­ti­ci­pa­ting churches. Other of­fi­cial Re­mem­brance Day ce­re­mo­nies sche­du­led for ear­lier in the day will take place as usual.

The rin­ging of church bells in ce­le­bra­tion mar­ked the end of both World Wars in coun­tries like Ca­na­da. The Bells of Peace Ini­tia­tive is in­ten­ded to be a one-time event for this year in Ca­na­da.
