TOWNSHIP ASSESSMENT FUNDING

Cham­plain Township will re­ceive a gran­tin-aid worth up to $50,000, through the Fe­de­ra­tion of Ca­na­dian Mu­ni­ci­pa­li­ties (FCM) to help with its assessment ma­na­ge­ment plan­ning. Township Chief Ad­mi­nis­tra­tor Pau­la Knud­sen re­cent­ly told coun­cil will help township staff with doing up-to-date as­sess­ments of the condi­tion of the Vank­leek Hill are­na, lo­cal roads, and al­so pro­vide staff trai­ning for main­tai­ning the mu­ni­ci­pal assessment ma­na­ge­ment plan. Se­nior-le­vel go­vern­ments have now made assessment ma­na­ge­ment plans a condi­tion for fu­ture ap­pro­val of in­fra­struc­ture as­sis­tance ap­pli­ca­tions. – Gregg Cham­ber­lain
