VKH COUGARS TAKE DOWN GATINEAU

The Vankleek Hill Cougars added another win to their season score sheet in the National Capital Junior Hockey League, beating the Gatineau-Hull Volant 4-2 November 23 in Gatineau.

Scoring single goals for Vankleek Hill were Jeremy Aubin, Nicolas Castonguay, Justin Labrosse, and Keean McEachern. Goal assists came from Labrosse, Nikolas Ayotte, Jonathan Lacroix, François Larose, and Joey Simoneau. Frederick Durocher guarded the Vankleek Hill net.

Denis Gratton and Simon Hupé popped in goals for Gatineau with assists from Anthony Bélanger, Jérémie Cardinal, Mathieu Des Ruisseaux, and Maxime Tremblay. MarcOlivie­r Bastien was in the net.

The Cougars start December by hosting the Metcalfe Jets Saturday night at the Vankleek Hill Arena.

Saint-Isidore

The last weekend of November was not a good one for Saint-Isidore in the National Capital Junior Hockey League. The home team was shut out 5-0 Sunday afternoon by the Clarence Creek Castors.

Clarence Creek goals included two by Zack Lugli, with singles from Samuel Gaudet, Kyle Goodman, and Patrick Lemay. Assisting on the scoring were Aiden Cannell, Matthew Clifford, Thomas Lowry, Nathan Melée, and Caleb Smith. Corey Camirand guarded the Clarence Creek net. Tyler Desjardins and Braden Penberthy shared netminding duty for Saint-Isidore.

The South Grenville Rangers come to play in Saint-Isidore, Sunday night, December 2.

Clarence Creek

The last weekend of November saw the Clarence Creek Castors lose their road game against the Bytown Royals 6-4 but shut out the Saint-Isidore Aigles 5-0 in their Sunday afternoon home game.

Samuel Gaudet scored two points for Clarence Creek against Bytown with teammates Austin Laprade and Patrick Lemay firing in single goals. Assists on the scoring came from Gaudet, Lemay, Logan Lefebvre, Nathan Melée, and Caleb Smith. Corey Camirand and Andrew Larivière shared goalkeepin­g duty.

William Lachapelle scored a hat trick for the Royals with solo goals for Bytown from Samuel Constantin­eau, Samuel Paquette, and Luigi Peloso. Assisting were Constantin­eau, Lachapelle, Paquette, and Josh Barnes. Danik Gervais guarded the Bytown net.
