COUGARS CLEAN UP OPPOSITION AGAIN OVER THE WEEKEND

The Vankleek Hill Cougars kept the Metcalfe Jets from flying away with a win Saturday night and then went over to Morrisburg Sunday afternoon to cage the Lions.

The 5-4 win against Metcalfe and 11-3 hammering on Morrisburg over the December 2 weekend wins put the Cougars into second place so far in the National Capital Junior Hockey League.

Tyler Dopelhamer scored the winning third-period goal against the Jets and assisted on one of the other four goals. Also scoring for Vankleek Hill were Nikolas Ayotte, Nicolas Castonguay, Justin Chaumont, and

Trystan Lavoie. Also assisting on the scoring were Castonguay, Samuel Drouin, Jonathan Lacroix, Danny PlourdeGre­non, Charles-Olivier Portelance, and Jacob Victor.

Scoring for Metcalfe were Quinn Bowman, Aiden Daly, and Evan Mantha, with assists from Bowman, Mantha, Alexandre Cloutier, Cameron Gallant, Jarrett Ladouceur, and Kirkland Reaney.

Scoring a pair of goals each for Vankleek Hill against Morrisburg Sunday were Ryan Allen, Nikolas Ayotte, and Jonathan Lacroix, with singles from Nicolas Castonguay, Tyler Dopelhamer, Trystan Lavoie, Keean McEachern, and Jacob Victor. Assisting were Ayotte, Castonguay, Dopelhamer, McEachern, Ryan Allen, Shayne Allen, Hugo Blanchard, Justin Chaumont, Vincent Huneault, Justin Labrosse, Jonathan Leblanc, and CharlesOli­vier Portelance.

Frederick Durocher guarded the Cougars net in both games.
