VKH TEAM VIVIER TOP THREE IN CURLING

Two Vankleek Hill athletes are now among the top three ranked youth curling rinks in Ontario.

Caitlin Allen, rink third and Lovitt, rink lead, are part of Team Vivier, now ranked third in the U18 Ontario Junior Curling Tour list. Allen and Lovitt, along with their teammates Dominique Vivier, rink second, and Paige Brown, rink skip, play out of the Navan Curling Club.

The Vivier rink swept through undefeated in the Canada Winter Games pre-trials in Renfrew over the December 8 weekend. The quartet is now scheduled to play in the provincial qualifiers, which take place January 3 to 6 in Sault Ste. Marie.

Success means the four would represent Ontario at the 2019 Canada Winter Games in Red Deer, Alberta, February 15 to March 3. —Gregg Chamberlain
