Colchester County commuters can expect delays both in the morning and afternoon as crews start road repairs along Highway 102.

Crews limited Hwy 102 to one lane for both northbound and southbound traffic between exits 11 (Stewiacke) and 12 (Brookfield) Wednesday morning.

Outside lanes are closed off going both directions, and speeds are reduced from 110 km/h to 80 km/h.

With an estimated 30,000 vehicles using the highway per day, travellers should expect backed up traffic and delays, especially at high traffic hours such as in the morning and late afternoon.

The roadwork is scheduled to wrap up Friday, but travellers of Hwy 102 may want to plan ahead and pick an alternate route for the time being.

At the moment, there are no announced plans to work on the inside lanes in the near future.
