MacKen­zie, Glen­dyn Eric — It is with pro­found sad­ness that the fam­ily of Glen­dyn Eric MacKen­zie, 56, of Pleas­ant Val­ley, an­nounces his pass­ing on Mon­day, Septem­ber 4, 2017, in the Hal­i­fax In­fir­mary QE11, sur­rounded by his lov­ing fam­ily.

Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Foster and Nina (Sta­ples) MacKen­zie.

Glen is sur­vived by his wife of 35 years, Judi (Mac­Don­ald); daugh­ter, Jan­ica (John), Lower Sackville; broth­ers, Foster (Dor­cas), Porters Lake; Marty, Truro; Randy (Char­lene), Truro; Greg, Cal­gary; sis­ter, Kelly (Mike) Crowe, East Moun­tain; half-sis­ters, Ann (Win­ston) Langille, Deanna (Harry) Fancy; mother-in-law, Jeanetta Mac­Don­ald; brother-in-law, Charles (Rhonda) Mac­Don­ald; nu­mer­ous nieces and neph­ews.

Glen loved his many Pleas­ant Val­ley friends like fam­ily.

Along with his par­ents, he was pre­de­ceased by his fa­ther-in-law, Wil­liam Mac­Don­ald.

Glen was a bread sales­man from an early age, work­ing with Bens and later with Won­der Bread. Most re­cently he was em­ployed at La­farge Canada, Brook­field.

Glen was known for his friendly per­son­al­ity, whistling while he worked, and he al­ways took pride in do­ing a great job, no mat­ter what the task.

His love of fam­ily, friends and fun were so im­por­tant to him. He loved shar­ing a laugh and a beer with his friends and fam­ily at home, in his garage, and dur­ing card games at the hunt­ing and fishing camps. He trea­sured his sum­mers at the fam­ily cot­tage at Brule Beach.

Cre­ma­tion has taken place un­der the di­rec­tion of Ari­mathea Fu­neral Co­op­er­a­tive, Up­per Musquodobo­it.

A grave­side ser­vice will be held on Thurs­day, Septem­ber 14, at 4 p.m., in Lower Pleas­ant Val­ley Ceme­tery, Pleas­ant Val­ley. Fam­ily and friends are in­vited to share their me­mories of Glen af­ter the ser­vice at his home and the camp in Pleas­ant Val­ley.

In lieu of flow­ers, me­mo­rial do­na­tions may be made to Lower Pleas­ant Val­ley Ceme­tery Company or Cobe­quid Wildlife Re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion Cen­tre, Hilden.
