Truro teams to play home openers on Friday at the TAAC Grounds
Friday Night Lights returns to the TAAC Grounds this week.
The Truro Blue Bombers peewee team and Truro Freightliners bantam squad will play their home openers on Friday after beginning their seasons with two straight road games.
The Bombers host the Halifax Argos for a 6:30 p.m. start, while the Freightliners and Argos butt heads, beginning at 8:30 p.m.
There will be fireworks between games.
Week 3 results
The Truro Tide struggled offensively in a loss to the Dartmouth Destroyers.
Brayden Doran had the lone major for the Tide, while the Destroyers scored a touchdown in each quarter.
The Tide returns to the gridiron on Saturday to face the Timberlea Titans at the Sir John A Macdonald field.
The Blue Bombers lost a heartbreaker to the Valley Bulldogs on a last-second play.
The visitors scored a late touchdown to edge the Bombers 28-27 in a thrilling game.
Truro played its best game of the year and was led by player of the game Levi Spence, Dante Gabrielli and Jase Langille.
The Freightliners were outplayed by the Valley Bulldogs and were blanked 21-0.
Truro looks for a big bounceback effort in their home opener Friday.
Uprights were installed at the TAAC Grounds this week in preparation of a new Truro Minor Football Association season on home turf. Truro peewee and bantam teams will play their home openers Friday at 6:30 and 8:30 p.m.
