Truro teams to play home openers on Fri­day at the TAAC Grounds

Fri­day Night Lights re­turns to the TAAC Grounds this week.

The Truro Blue Bombers pee­wee team and Truro Freight­lin­ers ban­tam squad will play their home openers on Fri­day af­ter be­gin­ning their sea­sons with two straight road games.

The Bombers host the Hal­i­fax Argos for a 6:30 p.m. start, while the Freight­lin­ers and Argos butt heads, be­gin­ning at 8:30 p.m.

There will be fire­works be­tween games.

Week 3 re­sults


The Truro Tide strug­gled of­fen­sively in a loss to the Dart­mouth De­stroy­ers.

Bray­den Do­ran had the lone ma­jor for the Tide, while the De­stroy­ers scored a touch­down in each quar­ter.

The Tide re­turns to the grid­iron on Saturday to face the Tim­ber­lea Ti­tans at the Sir John A Mac­don­ald field.


The Blue Bombers lost a heart­breaker to the Val­ley Bull­dogs on a last-sec­ond play.

The vis­i­tors scored a late touch­down to edge the Bombers 28-27 in a thrilling game.

Truro played its best game of the year and was led by player of the game Levi Spence, Dante Gabrielli and Jase Langille.


The Freight­lin­ers were out­played by the Val­ley Bull­dogs and were blanked 21-0.

Truro looks for a big bounce­back ef­fort in their home opener Fri­day.

Up­rights were in­stalled at the TAAC Grounds this week in prepa­ra­tion of a new Truro Mi­nor Foot­ball As­so­ci­a­tion sea­son on home turf. Truro pee­wee and ban­tam teams will play their home openers Fri­day at 6:30 and 8:30 p.m.
