Huskies, X-Men post AUS foot­ball wins

The Saint Mary’s Huskies re­mained un­beaten at the mid­point of the At­lantic Univer­sity Sport foot­ball sea­son with a 27-26 win over the Mount Al­li­son Moun­ties on Satur­day in Sackville, N.B.

Liam O’Brien ran in a pair of touch­downs — in­clud­ing the win­ning score from one yard out with 24 sec­onds left in the fourth quar­ter — as Saint Mary’s im­proved to 4-0. Mount Al­li­son fell to 1-3. At Len­noxville, Que., Josh Mil­lar threw for 356 yards and three touch­downs and an in­ter­cep­tion as the St. Fran­cis Xavier X-Men (2-2) de­feated the Bishop’s Gaiters (1-3) 37-27. Next Satur­day, the Moun­ties will travel to Wolfville to play the Aca­dia Ax­e­men. Saint Mary’s will head to Antigo­nish to play the X-Men.
