Wind­ing River Art Gallery hold­ing an­niver­sary cel­e­bra­tion

Vis­ual art, mu­sic, sto­ries, and treats will come to­gether when the sev­enth an­niver­sary of the Wind­ing River Art Gallery is cel­e­brated.

Artists will be at the gallery, at Mastodon Ridge, in Stewiacke, and the open­ing of the Group of Seven-in­spired paint­ings will take place.

Gallery artists will take part in a fast-paint­ing con­test, and the win­ner of the gallery’s ‘paint by num­ber ’com­pe­ti­tion will be an­nounced.

There will be pre­sen­ta­tions by Devonna Ed­wards, au­thor of Saw­bones, the story of hos­pi­tals, medicine and nurs­ing in the Hal­i­fax Re­gional Mu­nic­i­pal­ity from 1749 through 2018; and Ni­cole Delory, au­thor of Night at the Gar­dens, a chil­dren’s book about the ad­ven­tures of stat­ues that come to life at night in the Hal­i­fax Pub­lic Gar­dens.

Char­lie De­wol e, of Ship Har­bour, will pro­vide live mu­sic, and vis­i­tors will be treated to cake and re­fresh­ments.

The cel­e­bra­tion takes places this Sun­day, Oct. 14, from 1 to 4 p.m.
