Whiskered away

The theme of Truro’s an­nual Santa Claus Pa­rade was ‘ Your Favourite Christ­mas Toy.’ The weather co-op­er­ated this year as peo­ple lined the streets to take in the colour­ful and imag­i­na­tive en­tries and the elab­o­rate cos­tumes.

It’s a sure sign Christ­mas isn’t far off when Santa takes time from his busy sched­ule to join in Truro’s an­nual pa­rade.

Blaikie’s Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ltd. brought Santa Claus all the way from the North Pole to down­town Truro. He was the star of the show at the an­nual Santa Claus Pa­rade, which saw throngs of peo­ple jam the streets to en­joy the show.

It was all camo cream and head-to-toe green on this Bucket O Sol­diers Toy Story-themed float at the Santa Claus Pa­rade in Truro. This year’s pa­rade theme was Your Favourite Christ­mas Toy – and this float cer­tainly hon­oured its spirit.

The Truro Fire Ser­vice al­most stole the show at the pa­rade, driv­ing their cen­tury-old an­tique truck through the down­town core. The truck is reg­u­larly main­tained and is fully func­tional. Used in fire­fight­ing demon­stra­tions through­out the year, the truck was dec­o­rated as a wind-up toy for the pa­rade.

One of Santa’s Lit­tle Helpers sport­ing an elf’s hat and a uni­cy­cle rode down Prince Street dur­ing the Santa Claus Pa­rade. This year’s theme was Your Favourite Christ­mas Toy.
