Valley man issued sti ne for repeat drinking/driving
TRURO, N.S. — A repeat drinking and driving o ender was ned a total of $3,250 and placed on probation for 12 months, during
sentencing in Truro provincial court Tuesday.
Damian Daniel Walker Ives, 22, of Burris Drive, Valley who pled guilty to failing the breathalyzer, registered a reading of .18, more than twice the legal limit, when stopped by police last January.
He was ned $2,500, issued a victim surcharge fee of $750 and had his
driving privileges revoked for two years.
Ives also had a prior drinking and driving conviction dating to 2015. As part of his probation conditions, Ives is not permitted to consume alcohol, is banned from entering establishments where alcohol is sold and must be assessed for counselling on alcohol consumption issues.
