The Once kick off De­cem­ber at decoste

The Once, a trio based out of St. John’s, N.L, will ap­pear at the decoste Per­form­ing Arts Cen­tre in Pic­tou this Sat­ur­day, Dec. 1 at 7:30 p.m. to launch their new al­bum Time Enough.

The group fea­tures the lead vo­cals of Geral­dine Hol­lett, along with the vo­cal­ist-in­stru­men­tal­ists Phil Churchill and An­drew Dale The a capella har­monies of the trio, mixed with a var­ied se­lec­tion of in­stru­men­tal ac­com­pa­ni­ment cre­ate a mix of orig­i­nal and tra­di­tional Mar­itime mu­sic, foot­stomp­ing shanties, and heart ren­der­ing bal­lads.

Their songs have been fea­tured in in­ter­na­tional film and tele­vi­sion.

They’ve had mil­lions of views with their You Tube videos and ac­cu­mu­lated an ar­ray of nom­i­na­tions and tro­phies from ECMA, Cana­dian Folk and Juno Awards through­out the years.

On this lat­est al­bum, their fourth, the band stays true to the root strength of their har­mony- driven sound, and craft an un­der­stated, but emo­tion­ally ful­some sound.
