7 DAY FORECAST, TRURO
CINDY SAYS: A storm system that got its start in the Gulf of Mexico on Monday has its sights set on Newfoundland. The centre of the developing storm will slide south of the Avalon putting us on the cold side of the low- we’ve dodged this one. On Friday, however, a weak and messy system will slide just slide south of the province; it will warm up – and we could see a mix of rain and wet snow. Snowfall total should be light – in the 3 to 5 cm range. Behind the system, cold dry air making landfall along north-west facing coast lines will trigger snow squalls and serve up a cold weekend; chill values will range from -12 to -15.
