House arrest for drug conviction

TRURO, N.S. – A Truro man who pled guilty to possessing cannabis for the purpose of traffickin­g, was given a 12-month conditiona­l sentence in provincial court. Christophe­r Rushton, 54, of Burnyeat Street, must serve the rst four months under 24/7 house arrest.

For the following four months, Rushton must adhere to a daily curfew from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. During his sentencing period, he is not permitted to possess, consume or use illicit drugs, prescrip- tion drugs or marijuana without a valid prescripti­on.
