Thunder win two minor midget tilts

TRURO, N.S. — The Fundy Thunder won a pair of recent Nova Scotia Minor Midget AAA Hockey League games.

The Thunder blanked the Valley Wildcats 2-0, before cooling the Cape Breton Jets 4-2. Brandon White stopped all 21 shots he faced to earn the shutout against the Wildcats. Calem Mcandrew and Colby Wolfe scored goals and Mason Bird and Jayden Matheson had assists. Against the Jets, Wolfe netted a pair of goals, while Timothy Porter added a goal and an assist. Bryson Chapman red the other Fundy marker and Evan Mcnea, Nicholas Gallant and Noah Harrison had helpers. Ashton Cutten made 27 saves between the pipes. With the wins, the Thunder improved their record to 14-7-1-0. They sit third in the eight-team league, three points behind the second-place Basin Armada and six back of the league-leading Admirals.
