Truro play­ers com­pet­ing in Ice Jam tour­na­ment

ree mem­bers of the Fundy Thun­der have been named to the Nova Sco­tia mi­nor midget AAA Selects all-star team for this week’s East Coast Ice Jam tour­na­ment in Bed­ford.

Cap­tain Noah Har­ri­son, Ja­cob Bol­ger and Kyran Bur­ton are mem­bers of the Selects for the tour­na­ment, which got un­der way on Jan. 9 and wraps up Jan. 13 at the BMO Cen­tre.

Bur­ton is an af­fil­i­ate player for the Selects.

The mi­nor midget all- stars are com­pet­ing in the ma­jor midget divi­sion of the tour­na­ment.

Har­ri­son, a for­ward, leads the Thun­der in scor­ing with 16 goals and 13 as­sists in 22 games, while Bol­ger, a de­fence­man, has a goal and eight as­sists in 20 games with the Thun­der this sea­son.

Bur­ton, a cen­tre, is fth in team scor­ing with six goals and four as­sists in 20 games.

The Selects opened the tour­na­ment on Wed­nes­day against the West­ern Kings.

Thun­der for­ward Calem McAn­drew is also com­pet­ing in the tour­na­ment as a mem­ber of the Pic­tou County Weeks ma­jor midget club.

Mean­while, the Truro Bearcats will play in the ma­jor ban­tam divi­sion.

The Bearcats, who sit in third place in the Nova Sco­tia Ma­jor Ban­tam Hockey League with a record of 14- 9- 0- 0, opened the tour­na­ment against the Tri-pen Ice from New­found­land on Jan. 9.
