Jail time ordered for sexual interference with minor
TRURO, N. S. – A Salmon River man who pleaded guilty in provincial court to sexual interference (touching) involving a person under age 16 has been sentenced to one year in jail.
Stephen Edward Lumsden, 58, of East Prince Street must also serve two years of probation following his release from custody.
Lumsden had to pay $700 toward his forensic sexual behaviour assessment and must take counselling for sexual deviance.
He is not to have contact with his complainant and must not be alone in the presence of a female under 18, except while in the company of another adult.
Lumsden was further ordered to provide a DNA sample and his name will be added to the Sexual Offender Information Registry for 20 years.
