Age 72, of Truro, Nova Sco­tia, passed away re­sult­ing from an ac­ci­dent on May 24, 2019. He was born on Oc­to­ber 27, 1946 in Truro to the late Bernard Sidler and Sylvia Ber­nice (Mar­go­lian) Sidler. An avid out­doors­man, Robert ded­i­cated him­self to his in­ter­ests, rang­ing from mo­tor­sports, avi­a­tion, com­pet­i­tive shoot­ing, up­land bird hunt­ing, and fresh and salt­wa­ter fly fish­ing. He ac­tively participat­ed in the com­mu­nity through, among others, the fam­ily busi­ness, Mar­go­lians Mar­itimes Ltd. and his vol­un­teer in­ter­ests such as the Colch­ester Re­gional Hospi­tal. Robert was un­spar­ing of him­self in the pur­suit of his craft, all the while de­vot­ing him­self to help­ing others to im­prove theirs. He was pre­de­ceased by his wife, Daina (Biskaps) Sidler and nephew, Ja­son Cormier. He is sur­vived by his sons, Mark and Christo­pher Sidler; daugh­ters-in-law, Sarah (Chaimovitz) Sidler and El­iz­a­beth Liang; grand­daugh­ter, Ge­or­giana, and his grand­daugh­ter-to-be; his com­pan­ion, Jody Ne­w­house, of St. An­drews, New Brunswick; her son, Alexan­der Lively, and the Ne­w­house fam­ily; his sis­ter, Karen Cormier; brother-in-law, Don­ald Cormier, and their fam­ily in Amherst, N. S. He will be missed by all whose lives were en­riched by his pres­ence, in­clud­ing his beloved dogs, Ruff and Bri­ley. At his re­quest, there will be no ser­vice or me­mo­rial in his honour. He pre­ferred in­stead to be re­mem­bered through the shared ex­pe­ri­ences of friends and fam­ily.
