Clint Black set to per­form in Truro


TRURO, N.S. – Amer­i­can coun­try star and Grammy Award win­ner Clint Black is hit­ting the stage in Truro.

Or­ga­niz­ers at the Rath­east­link Com­mu­nity Cen­tre are ex­pect­ing “an­other packed house of mu­sic fans,” for Black’s June 5 per­for­mance.

“Clint Black is a coun­try mu­sic leg­end, and the def­i­ni­tion of a world class mu­si­cal act,” said Mike Smith, di­rec­tor of part­ner­ships and com­mu­ni­ca­tions at the RECC.

Black will play fan favourites such as “Killin’ Time”, ‘Bet­ter Man’, “A Good Run of Bad Luck” and “When I said I do”, among his other songs.

Open­ing for Black is Cana­dian group Tim and the Glory Boys, led by Juno Award-win­ning Tim Neufeld.

Smith said Black’s show in Truro, one of two in Nova Sco­tia, shows the RECC is be­com­ing a pop­u­lar venue for both ma­jor sport­ing and mu­sic events. Black will per­form at Sydney’s Cen­tre 200 on June 3.

An­other pre­mier event be­ing hosted by the RECC is the In­ter­na­tional Ice Hockey Fed­er­a­tion 2020 World Women’s Cham­pi­onship, March 31 to April 10. This com­pe­ti­tion will run in both Truro and Hal­i­fax.

Pro skater Tony Hawk and BMX ex­pert Mat Hoff­man will put on a grav­ity-de­fy­ing show May 15-17 at the RECC. Black’s June 5 show starts at 7:30 p.m.; doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tick­ets go on sale at 10 a.m., Fri­day, Feb. 14.
