Indian Brook man arrested for robbery
TRURO – A 19- year- old Indian Brook man charged with robbing a local convenience store has been remanded until Monday for a show cause hearing.
Christopher Isaac McDonald has been charged with robbery in the incident that occurred on Feb. 11 at the Needs store on East Prince Street.
He appeared in provincial court briefly on Wednesday wearing a blue T- shirt, grey jogging pants and orange sneakers that are issued to prisoners.
On the date in question, a man armed with a knife entered the store in Salmon River and threatened an employee before fleeing with a quantity of cash.
Millbrook and Colchester RCMP members located McDonald walking along Highway 102 near Brookfield two days later.
During his court appearance, two members of the audience said they are willing to act as sureties if MacDonald is released and will be available for the hearing Monday.
One of the two women said, “I love you, Chris,” as he was led away by sheriffs, while a young man also added, “We’ll get you out, bro, one way or another.”
MacDonald is scheduled for 9: 30 a. m.
