Joseph reoffering for Truro town council seat
Danny Joseph is reoffering as councillor for Ward 3 in this fall’s municipal election.
Joseph has worked as a teacher in schools and with the Correctional Service of Canada and Nova Scotia Justice, and was a caseworker and supervisor with the Department of Community Services.
He has been a volunteer coach and official in youth athletics, volunteered with the Canadian Cancer Society and has been a member of the Royal Canadian
Legion for almost 40 years. He is just completing his first term as town councillor and has served on several committees, including tourism, recreation, library reconstruction, diversity and the RECC. He was vice chairman of Truro’s branding committee. He sees sustainable development as one of the most important issues during the next few years and feels Truro, for the most part, is heading in the right direction.
“The town has a new vibe it hasn’t had for a long time and I’m positive about the future,” he said.
He noted the importance of responsible citizen advocacy, and encourages people to make themselves aware of, and educated about, issues.
He would like to help build a stable tax base to carry it forward and is also concerned about the little things people face.
“My whole philosophy is based on the minutiae that affect people and helping them with their everyday problems,” he said.
He added he will give his best efforts to return calls, seek understanding and keep residents informed, while representing them on council.
Joseph is single and has one son and a granddaughter.
