Nine dashes set for Sunday
Truro Raceway will host a nine-dash card of live harness action on Sunday.
Several local drivers will be missing from action, as they travel to Cape Breton to compete in the Nova Scotia Stake for two-year-old colts and fillies at Inverness Raceway.
Post time for Truro Raceway is set for noon. Qualifying rounds are scheduled for 10:45 am.
Post times remain at noon
The board of directors of the NSPE have confirmed that post time for the remainder of the 2016 meet will stay at noon with qualifiers at 10:45 am.

Sale grad wins first start
The two-year-old filly, Fern Hill Bella, sold out of the 2015 NSPE Select Yearling Sale as Hip #20, bred and consigned by Brian MacLeod of Truro, stepped to her first lifetime victory in line to Todd Trites in 2:00.1 off of a 209.2 qualifier.
The victory came on Sept. 5 at Fredericton Raceway in a division of the Williamson Memorial Stake filly division.
2016 Select sale
The NSPE Select Yearling Sale is set for Friday, Oct. 21, at the MacMillan Show Centre with a 5 pm start time.
Thirty-two top-bred colts and fillies will be crossing the auction block. The list of yearlings available on line at www.nspe.ca under Truro Raceway (click on calendar). Sale books and online pedigrees will be ready the last week of September.
Secret Fantasy retired
The nine-year-old son of Island Fantasy, owned by Rhea Chase and her son Bailey, has been retired from the racing game.
Secret ended his career with 29 victories out of his 238 lifetime starts. Claimed out of Northside Downs in 2010 by Wayne Merner and Rhea Chase, Secret Fantasy was Truro’s Claiming Horse of the Year for the 2012-2013 meet, earning seven wins.
Having his forever home with Rhea and her family, Secret Fantasy has commenced his retirement journey, being turned out in three acres of lush pasture along with three field buddies.
