MacCORMICK, Duncan Joseph Ronald “Ronnie” – 84, Bible Hill passed away suddenly at home on May 30, 2017.

Born in Truro, he was the son of the late Malcolm and Florence (Roche) MacCormick.

He was a well-known hockey and baseball athlete in the Truro area in his younger years. He spent many years working as an engineer for CNR and VIA Rail. He loved fishing, golfing and had a secret number for a fishing hole for each grandchild. He loved his cottage in Economy and spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed having his morning coffee with his friends at Tim Hortons.

He is survived by his special friend, Ruth MacMillan; children, Jane (Allister) Benvie, Upper Stewiacke, Vince (Crystal), Crowes Mills, Margie (Kenny) Hill, Truro, Lorna MacCormick, Halifax, Jason (Penny) Valley; sister, Helen Withrow, Truro; grandchild­ren, Lyndsey Morris, Neal, Michaela, Shawn, Ashley, Michael, Kynan, Kassidy, Cameron; great-grandchild­ren Elsie, Edward, Faith, Claire, Kason, Sophie, Jayce, Roman, Reese and Ryder. Besides his parents, he was predecease­d by his wife, Norma (Fiddes); sisters-in-law, Shirley and Nancy; brothers-in-law, Warren, Bill and Mac.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 3 from noon to 1 p.m. followed by the Liturgy of the Word, all in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro with Father Dariusz Miskowicz officiatin­g. Interment in Bible Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bible Hill Cemetery Corp. or to the Shortts Lake Dragon Boat Team.
