Shredfest returning to Truro
Prepare for a showcase of big air and fiery stunts as local BMX riders, skateboarders and fire dancers bring the heat to the downtown.
Shredfest is taking over Inglis Place for the second year in a row next month, and will feature demonstrations by local riders, the Cobequid Dance Academy and a fiery performance by Incendia Motus.
“It’s a friendly event that promotes all of downtown,” said Samantha Madore, executive director of the Downtown
Truro Partnership.
There will be face painting, and many downtown merchants will be staying open late during the event.
The BMX and skateboard demonstration will be set up by Bike Monkey and HAF Skate and Tattoo, and will have riders from the area busting out their best tricks.
“There will be ramps set up in the street, and we will have local guys riding and doing tricks right in the middle of Inglis Place, which is pretty awesome,” said Madore.
Incendia Motus, a Halifax circus act, will bring a fiery acrobatic show of stunts, gymnastics and improv comedy.
New to the event this year is the Cobequid Dance Academy, who will perform a hip-hop inspired dance routine before each Incendia Motus performance.
The event will run from 6-9 p.m. on Aug. 12, and is free for everyone to enjoy. The road will be shut down for most of the day, so traffic will be redirected.
