MONTELEONE, Lorna Louise (nee Lewis) October 18, 1948- August 3, 2017

After a long and courageous battle with ovarian cancer, Lorna passed peacefully at the Carpenter Hospice in Burlington at the age of 68. Beloved wife of devoted husband Frank and mommy to Bentley, her dedicated companion. Loving step-mom to Kelly and Adam (Erin) and step grandmothe­r to Matteo and Sofia. She is survived by sisters Donna (Grant) Ballam and Melanie Hall and brother-in-law Paul Parker. Dear aunt of Grant, Amanda, Eva and Sophie She will be lovingly remembered by many aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws in the Monteleone family. Predecease­d by her parents Logan and Avis Lewis, her sister Nancy Parker and her in-laws Nicola and Providenza Monteleone. Lorna was the only child of Logan and Avis Lewis (nee Ashley). Born in Truro, N.S., she moved to Ontario in the mid-60’s where she met Frank and they had just celebrated their 30th anniversar­y on last Feb 28. She was an accomplish­ed lab tech and manager of a nuclear medicine department and most recently was Frank’s legal secretary. Lorna had a heart of gold, kind and loyal to her many friends, some for over 50 years. She loved to knit and her baby clothes, blankets, and hats are everywhere! Many thanks to the doctors and nurses at Credit Valley Hospital who helped with the cancer battle for almost three and a half years and the wonderful staff at the Carpenter Hospice in Burlington where she spent the last day and a half. Family and friends are invited to call at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls, visiting Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service in celebratio­n of her life will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. In memory of Lorna, donations in lieu of flowers to the Carpenter Hospice or the Credit Valley Hospital Cancer Program would be appreciate­d by her family.
