7:30 p.m. Mary Miller and her Book - Retired Mt. A. Music educator, Dr. Nancy Vogan will give a presentati­on on the Mary Miller Book, (written in 1766) and similar works.

FRIDAY, SEPT. 29 Old Time Dance

Douglas Street Recreation Centre, 7:30 p.m.; shared lunch, door prize, sponsored by Y Senior Citizens Group, age 50 and older welcome, admission $5.

Fish and Chips

Fish and chips/silent auction, Truro Legion; $8 per person, 5-7 p.m. unless sold out; silent auction, 5-8 p.m. in Games Room.

Chase the Ace

Stewiacke Legion and Volunteer Fire Department Chase the Ace; every Friday until won; tickets sold 6 to 8 p.m. at both locations. Draw at the Legion approximat­ely 8:15 p.m.

Debert Legion

Friday night supper. 4:30-6:00 p.m. Pan-fried haddock veg. dessert tea and coffee. Adults $10.00. Under 10, $5.00. Take outs available Wheelchair accessible. Come out and meet your friends.

The Brunswick Street Beanery is back for the fall; one litre of beans and brown Bread for $7.99; available Fridays from 2 - 5 p.m.; curbside service, corner of Brunswick and Wood streets.

Tool Collectors

Atlantic Tool Collectors Fall Show/ Sale, noon – 3 p.m., Farm Equipment Museum, NSPE Grounds, Truro; tool displays, swap/sell tables; Good Times Fiddlers perform noon – 1 p.m.: bring a chair; coffee/tea available.

Bluegrass Jams

Truro and Area Bluegrass Associatio­n, 1 to 8 p.m.; at Ecole Acadienne, 50 Aberdeen St., Truro. Jams scheduled for second and last Saturdays of each month, fall to spring.

Supper

Valley Elementary School 7 p.m. Harvest Fest and Jamboree; admission $10, sponsored by Valley United UCW. Entertainm­ent by Wayne Elliot & friends; dessert, beverages, silent auction, draws for an additional $2; door prizes.

Yard/Bake Sale

Yard and bake sale, 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., TOPS NS2709 Masonic Lodge, 143 Pictou Road, Bible Hill.

Fundraiser Dance
